PC World recently released their 100 Best Products of 2008. Always a great topic for debate, these “Top/Best” lists, no?
Doesn’t matter, what appeals to me is the navigation capabilities of the list. Look at it in ranked order, ABC order, category order, most anticipated (in pictures), or by readers’ top choices.
Jason’s highlights and lowlights:

UPDATE: I changed the title of this post from something about the No A$$hole Rule. I’m definitely NOT saying that the customer was being an a$$hole. The guy wanted to buy an iPhone with cash, big deal! Thanks for the catch, Jenny.
Simplicity, by Eric Burke

I mostly agree about Apple, I completely agree about Google, and I agree while shaking my head and getting a little depressed about My Company’s App. It’s just not that hard to be simple, folks.
Based on how dead-on this comic alone is, I’ll be paying more attention to Eric Burke’s comics. Good stuff, Eric.

I just read one of the most fascinating, disturbing articles I’ve ever read about a particular person of business fame. I’ll say little more. Instead, I’ve clipped from the article a big batch of quotes, facts, and opinions about this person. Now, I only pulled the controversial, negative parts. I didn’t make these up, and [...]

You know, I’ve long maintained that the most amazing thing Apple has pulled out of its hat isn’t any of its lovely desktop or laptop computers, not it’s operating system, not any of the nonstop stream of iPods, not the Apple Stores, and not the iPhone.
It’s iTunes. ‘Twas announced today that iTunes is now the [...]

Shouldn’t it be “The Best Companies For Whom to Work?”
Whatever. Let’s take a look at the companies making this highly-publicized list for 2008:
Number of publishers: Zero. That’s unfortunate now, isn’t it?
Number of retailers: 11. Wegman’s, Starbucks, Whole Foods, Nugget Markets, eBay, The Container Store, Stew Leonard’s, Recreational Equipment, Nordstrom, CarMax and Publix. (Six grocery store chains? Well OK then.) Wegman’s [...]
Three Brands, Coexisting & Profiting

I keep running into this ad on one of my favorite blogs, and it keeps catching my attention. Not because it’s bedazzling in any manner, but because of the triple-threat it’s advertising: Apple, Dell, and HP.
It just seems surprising, and pleasing really, to see the three brands politely sitting together. And it’s impressive too… because [...]

The Belichick of Technology

Earlier today I read a blog post from my friend and colleague Joe Wikert about Steve Jobs’ proclamation that “People don’t read anymore.” I also commented, noting that Jobs is starting to remind me of curmudgeon (but also cheating) coach of the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick.
How timely that I find this story today, about how famous [...]
