Just a quick update.  Systemax and TigerDirect are ambitiously continuing with plans to reinvigorate what’s left of CompUSA.  The optimism is nice to read.

”Everything will be brand new,” says TigerDirect CEO Gilbert Fiorentino.

Systemax, a direct marketer of PCs and accessories, who owns the better known TigerDirect, is purchasing some of the remaining CompUSA.  Key details, so far:

CompUSA has gone out of business with the start of the new year.  They struggled the last few years, closing 126 stores earlier in 2007, and finally liquidating in December.
